Following the massive success of Lotusphere in the US at the end of January, we are delighted to be able to offer you the opportunity to attend a highlights event especially for UK businesses. The event was last year described by a major blue-chip InfoSys customer as 'The best I have attended'. It will be hosted by InfoSys and IBM, on the 6th March in Swindon, and will follow our regular Open Day format.

We understand the need to gain more from the business resources, reduce costs of business as well as reduce the physical impact we have on the environment. In these uncertain times, there is also greater focus on creating flexibility in your business model as well as the need to handle, control, and distribute secure company data. This Lotusphere in the UK event will focus on how new collaboration, web and information management software can help with all these demands.

In particular, there will be a great emphasis on:

· Mashups for web applications developed in a wide range of languages but implemented by power users at low cost with maximum speed and results
· New techniques in Lotus Notes 8.5 including web 2.0 capabilities, gadgets and Xpages for more responsive and powerful web sites helping you work with customers and partners more efficiently
· Web sites and portals that are driven by the business and by people needing to work with customers, employees and partners
· Team working over space and time with unified collaboration in Sametime 8.5 which combines web conferencing, telephony integration and instant chat
· Repositories that are accessed by users from their desktop environment using software such as MS Office and integrated with unified collaboration and messaging
· Reducing dependency on any particular vendor, software product or technology standard

Open Day Sessions

· Working with Web 2.0 in your web sites for customers, employees and partners
· Removing the need for expensive and heavy-weight applications for WP, presentations and spreadsheets with Symphony editors
· Document management, paper handling, and, data in ECM solutions
· Social software and Lotus Connections for wiki’s, web navigation sharing, people finder and activity management
· Mashups for standards-based quick situational web applications
· Lotus Sametime 8.5 and Unified Communications
· Mobile Working with Notes and Blackberry or Apple iPhone / iTouch
· User participation in portals using a MS Word-like interface in a browser

The Open Day will be based on our familiar format and has been designed for business managers, business system users and IT professionals from technical staff to Directors/Managers to ensure everyone gets the best return on their time investment. The day consists of elective formal presentations, the chance to meet experts and peers in smaller groups and meetings on a 'one on one' basis. There will also be an opportunity to attend software demonstrations and case study presentations.

All scheduled sessions have been branded as 'Strategy’ or 'Technology', to help you book a place on the most relevant sessions that will provide you with the information needed for your role.
