Domisphere Portal Manager (DPM) significantly reduces the risks associated with building web sites, intranets and extranets. DPM decreases portal solution time to market and deployment times, whilst reducing both implementation and support costs.
It provides a step-change in ease of use without compromising the features of a Portal. With DPM, business people take control of the web presence in the context of the site itself. There is no need to move to an “authoring” environment for content creation – it is done directly from the portal (web site) itself.
DPM is an out-of-the-box solution that can be quickly deployed and customised to your requirements. When used with IBM software, it integrates IBM Lotus Web Content Management (ILWCM) and IBM WebSphere Portal (either Express edition or one of the enterprise options) so seamlessly that business users will not know they are separate products.
For a more detailed comparison of the additional functionality provided by Domisphere Portal Manager when compared to the current standard IBM Websphere Portal and IBM Lotus Web Content Management products, please refer to the PDF file attached below:

You can leverage the full capability of leading IBM software and still work in context since pages and content are created from within the display site. Content pages can be enhanced with additional application (portlet) functionality simply with drag and drop facilities.
Marketing and commercial teams can easily modify and switch between different page design and structure ideas 'trying out' portal concepts in real-life scenarios - and then measure their effectiveness with web-analytic Tools.
Workflow functionality controlling the content publication process is fully customisable and content is stored securely in an industrial strength system with full archival and version control. This helps with respect to governance and security and builds confidence in their use.
When using DPM there is NO need to switch to another tool to perform standard author processes. DPM provides 'edit in-context' by using authoring facilities embedded in web pages. Authors view sites like any other user, either logged in or anonymously. However, if they need to create or edit a content or navigation item they switch to “authoring mode” using a convenient link (typically in the footer of the page). These SAME web pages will now be displayed with a series of “edit”, “create” and other tool buttons.
When completed, the item can be sent through workflow for approval (with or without
sophisticated configurable routing options) or their content can be immediately published
to the site.
