"In context" content and portal management to IBM Websphere Portal
and Workplace Web Content Management
InfoSys has recently increased its content management product portfolio by developing a solution that fully integrates IBM Workplace Web Content Management (WCM) and IBM Websphere Portal (either Express edition or one of the enterprise options). The product is branded in our Domisphere family as Domisphere Link Engine for IBM Websphere Portal with, the option of a fully content managed and ready to run intranet portal package, Domisphere Portal Manager.
IBM Websphere portal and IBM Web Content Management (WCM), whilst providing a powerful combination, when working together to deliver user content managed web sites and intranets, are two separate products with two different origins and heritages. As such, there are some overlaps in functionality (for example navigation) and technical management, which have resulted in a combination that is often technically complex.
Domisphere Link Engine for IBM Websphere Portal bridges this gap allowing the entire portal navigational system to be created and managed from within WCM. This means that creating portal pages is as simple as creating WCM site areas or WCM content items. Links to content, created within WCM, automatically become links to portal pages without any additional tools. Friendly URL's are supported and the results of a Portal Search will now work back to the content in it's correct context within the portal. This means that content management authors/editors can now easily leverage the capabilities of portal in their sites. This greatly extends the sophistication of websites by easily allowing them to contain portal and WCM based content.

The product is available in two packages - one of these is a fully working turnkey intranet solution based on IBM Workplace Web Content Management and priced on a per content author/editor pricing model, Domisphere Portal Manager.
Alternatively, the tool is available separately for your existing portal and WWCM investment with InfoSys pricing based on IBM's value unit model.
