The Intranet Information Center is a ready to run intranet solution, which has been built on the market leading web content management system, Domisphere. This means it is now possible to deliver powerful intranet communication technology into your organisation in weeks rather than months, and with great flexibility to extend the system as your business demands it.
Intranet from day one
Working with Domisphere, InfoSys has added powerful intranet functionality to ensure you are gaining benefit from a Domisphere intranet from 'Day One'. We have taken the expertise gained from building many corporate intranets and applied it to our ready to run intranet solution to give you key intranet functionality from the start.
Ease of use
Domisphere Intranet Information Center is designed to be really easy to use. Authors add content to the system, using predefined templates, which control the type of information to be added, who can access the data, and the authorisation workflow required before any content is published. The adding of content could not be easier and the system is extremely flexible allowing new templates to be created and existing ones modified.
Once content is published it can be simply accessed with industry standard Internet browsers. This means the people who need to access the information need only use a very straightforward intuitive interface by clicking with a mouse. Should existing content need to be edited, Domisphere controls the process ensuring any changes are authorised by the appropriate manager and that old content is versioned and archived.
Using some special technology, it is even possible for data to be accessed locally offline, which means small satellite locations and remote workers can have full access to data without expensive full time communication links.
Design
The Information Center has been designed by professional web designers to make access to information easy and frustration free. The design (look and feel) and structure is preset within the system and can be fully utilised from 'day one' without any changes required. However, due to the way Domisphere works and the way design code is held as reusable components, it is very easy to modify the original design for your specific needs. In fact, the underlying Domisphere tool can be used to construct completely new intranet and Internet sites.

This means it easy to build web sites that allow users, who really understand content, to author text and add electronic resources to the site. Separately, technical people can develop the site, add new functionality, change look and feel and manage the underlying web technology.

Q: What else do I need?
A: The Intranet Information Center requires a Lotus Domino server, this can easily be supplied and installed by InfoSys if one does not already exist
Q: What skills are needed?
A: No special technical skills are needed to gain quick benefit from the Information Center. InfoSys can provide all the help required for a full successful implementation. If your company intends to develop new web sites, skills in HTML or HTML development tools such as Macromedia's Dream Weaver and Microsoft's Front Page would be useful.
